How to Download a Whole YouTube Playlist at Once
12 de maio de 2026
The worst way to save a 40-video course is 40 times: paste, wait, download, repeat. Playlists exist as a unit, and a proper downloader treats them as one — paste the playlist link once, get the whole set.
Playlist link vs video link
The detail that trips people up: a video you opened *from* a playlist has a URL containing both the video ID and a list= parameter. Paste that and most tools will grab just the single video. To get the whole set, use the playlist's own URL — youtube.com/playlist?list=… — which you get from the playlist page itself, or by tapping the playlist title.
What happens when you fetch a playlist
- The downloader lists every video in the playlist — titles, durations, thumbnails — before anything downloads.
- You start the batch; videos download one after another as a queue, each in the best quality available.
- A failed video (deleted, region-locked, private) is skipped and the queue moves on — one dead entry doesn't sink the other 39.
Music playlists: go straight to MP3
If the playlist is an album or a mix, downloading video files just wastes space. Fetch each entry in audio mode instead — you end up with a folder of properly-tagged MP3s. For a faithful archive, M4A keeps YouTube's original audio stream untouched.
Practical expectations
Playlists cap out at 200 entries per fetch on Puliqo — enough for almost any real playlist, and a guardrail against accidentally queueing someone's 4,000-video channel archive. Large batches also take time: a 40-video playlist is still 40 downloads, just ones you don't have to babysit. Start it, do something else, come back to a folder of files.
Mind the rate limits
Public downloaders enforce per-user quotas to stay alive (Puliqo's default is generous but real). If you hit a limit mid-playlist, wait for the window to reset and resume — the videos already downloaded are yours; re-fetching the playlist skips nothing but costs nothing either.
